Stainless steel 304H pipes are designed for high-temperature services. The high carbon content in TP304H provides improved creep strength compared to standard 304 stainless steel. This is beneficial for applications where the pipe is subjected to high temperatures for prolonged periods. While A312 TP304H pipes can be welded using standard welding methods, care must be taken to manage the heat input and post-weld heat treatment to minimize the risk of sensitization and carbide precipitation, which can affect the corrosion resistance of the material.
