SA 209 T1

ASME SA209 Grade T1a Alloy Steel Seamless Tubes are Carbon Steel Tubes with subsequent addition of chromium, molybdenum and sometimes vanadium are known as chrome moly Tubes.
ASTM A209 tubing is a carbon molybdenum alloy steel Seamless Tubing used in boilers, boiler flues, super heaters, ASME SA209 is available in A209 Grade T1, A209 Grade T1A, and A209 Grade T1B.The ASTM A209 Specifications are listed below with the Chemical Composition and Mechanical Properties.

Standard

This specification covers seamless carbon-molybdenum alloy-steel boiler and superheater tubes. As a steel making practice, the steel material shall be killed. The required chemical composition for steel is given. The mechanical property requirements include tensile requirements and hardness requirements. Different test procedure shall be performed on the material presented, one tension test shall be made on a specimen for lots of not more than 50 tubes, one flattening test shall be made on specimens from each end of one finished tube, one flaring test shall be made on specimens from each end of one finished tube, and Brinell or Rockwell hardness tests shall be made from two tubes from each lot.

Materials and Manufacture:

  • The Steel shall be killed.
  • The Tubes shall be made by the seamless process and shall be either hot-finished or cold finished, as specified.
  • Heat Treatment - Hot-finished tubes shall be heat treated at a temperature of 1200 °F [650 °C] or higher. Cold- finished tubes shall, after the final cold finishing, be heat treated at a temperature of 1200 °F [650 °C] or higher, or tubing may be furnished in the full-annealed, isothermal annealed, or normalized and tempered condition. If furnished in the normalized and tempered condition, the minimum tempering temperature shall be 1200 °F [650 °C].

Production Process

1. Materials: Take the raw materials out of the raw material warehouse or procurement channels, and conduct inspection and sorting;
2.temperature control: according to the required performance of the product, choose the appropriate temperature, and control it within a certain range;
3. Heating: Use hot blast stove or other heating methods to heat raw materials to the required temperature;
4.annealing: the heated raw materials into the torch box for annealing treatment, in order to improve the mechanical properties of raw materials;
5. Hot rolling: Put the heated raw materials into the hot rolling mill, and process the raw materials through pressure to obtain the required products;
6.cooling: hot rolled products with water or other coolant for cooling, to ensure the stability of the product structure;
7.detection: physical and chemical performance test to determine whether it meets the requirements;
8. Finishing: Organize the products, label them, and prepare them for loading and delivery.
